Subject: End Gas Price Gouging
 
Pennsylvanians are in pain at the pump. Prices have skyrocketed because multinational companies are taking advantage of the national conversation around supply chain disruption and inflation to charge unconscionable prices. Profits for these companies have gone up 300% this year and the only Americans benefiting are shareholders.
 
Five states have enacted legislation to prohibit changing prices in the same day, curbing abusive price increases, and cracking down on unfair or deceptive acts of price gouging. It’s time for Pennsylvania to do the same.

This legislation will prevent price increases within 24 hours of a previous increase, outlaw unconscionable increases in times of emergency, and empower the attorney general to investigate and prosecute gasoline price gouging.
