Subject: Fiscal Notes Prior to Execution of Contracts or Contract Amendments
 
Soon I will be introducing legislation to require the Office of the Budget to prepare fiscal notes on all new contracts and contract amendments thirty days prior to the execution of the contract or contract amendment.

This provides an extra layer of oversight and transparency to ensure the Commonwealth can afford contracts and contract amendments while ensuring citizens are aware of state agency actions.

I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this commonsense legislation to bring greater oversight and transparency into our contracting process.
