Subject: Amending the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to amend the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act.

My bill will require the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to declare a dam abandoned if it no longer has the ability to impound or store water or any other fluid.

This legislation will help small property owners in abandoning a dam on their property that is inoperable, unneeded, and yet still accrues yearly fees.
