Subject: Establishing the Vets First Tax Credit
 
In the near future, I will be introducing the Veterans First Tax Credit, which will provide a tax credit to Pennsylvania businesses for each unemployed veteran hired.

My proposal provides for a $1,000 credit for every veteran hired by an individual or small business within this Commonwealth. The $1,000 tax credit will incentivize small businesses to hire veterans, while at the same time assist in reducing the unemployment rate for our veteran population.  Any assistance we can provide to our unemployed veterans will go a long way for those who have sacrificed the most to ensure our freedom.
