|Subject:||Fair Reimbursement for Providers Act|
|I will be introducing legislation to assist those pharmacies who have taken extraordinary measures to prepare to become vaccine providers in response to this COVID-19 pandemic.
Between December 2020 and March 18, 2021 small pharmacies in the Commonwealth have expended thousands of dollars to be able to appropriately store and maintain COVID-19 vaccines. These capital expenditures were done with the understanding that they will continue to play a role in the COVID-19 response measures. Due to the unilateral decision of the Department of Health these providers have now been locked out of providing necessary services. In return, their capital investments have been lost without any ability to recover their expenditures.
My legislation would seek to reimburse these providers at 100% of their investment. Due to no fault of their own they are now no longer able to provide necessary services and recoup their investment. My legislation will provide these reimbursements by using money received from the Federal government in order to respond to this pandemic.
Please join me in sponsoring this legislation.
