MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 25, 2021 02:01 PM
From: Representative Parke Wentling
To: All House members
Subject: "Pennsylvania Medal of Honor Highway"

In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that will honor the Commonwealth’s distinguished Medal of Honor recipients by designating Pennsylvania’s entire 45-mile portion of U.S. Highway 20 as the “Pennsylvania Medal of Honor Highway”.

In working closely with the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), this legislation is part of the national movement designating, coast-to-coast, U.S Highway 20 as the “National Medal of Honor Highway”.  At 3,365 miles in length, it is the longest highway in the United States.  At the national level, the goal is to have all 11 states from Oregon to Massachusetts join this effort.

We will be honoring those individuals who have fought tirelessly, risking their lives, and in many cases, sacrificing their lives in combat for our country.

Please join me in support of this legislation honoring the Commonwealth’s Medal of Honor recipients.  Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Parke Wentling
