| In the near future, I plan on reintroducing legislation that will amend the Third Class Cities Code, the Borough Code, The First Class Township Code and the Incorporated Towns Act. This legislation will authorize municipalities to plan, design and construct storm water management systems, to direct surface water runoff through municipalities and create a dedicated funds system to pay for the projects. This legislation will help municipalities across the state to better deal with the increasing number of storm water regulations imposed by DEP and the EPA. This will also save money for these municipalities, many that are struggling through these challenging times, by allowing them to address these issues without needing to create a storm water management authority. Second Class townships already have this ability. Please join me in supporting this much-needed legislation that will help these municipalities address storm water management while minimizing costs and burdens on local taxpayers. |
