Subject:	SSG Willis J. Crayton Memorial Bridge

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation to honor the life and service of Staff Sergeant (SSG) Willis J. Crayton. This bill will designate a bridge on a portion of State Route 2007 in North Union Township, Fayette County as the SSG Willis J. Crayton Memorial Bridge. A graduate of North Union High School, Crayton served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army 707 Tank Battalion 7th Division during World War II. In recognition of his dedicated service in combat, Crayton was awarded a Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Willis J. Crayton tragically died in a car accident on this bridge on December 23, 1950. Please join me in sponsoring this important legislation honoring the life and service of a local hero, Willis J. Crayton.
