MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 11, 2021 11:44 AM
From: Representative Christopher B. Quinn
To: All House members
Subject: Landowner Bill of Rights (Former HB188)

In the near future, I intend to reintroduce legislation that would direct the Office of the Attorney General to create a Landowner Bill of Rights in which the rights of property owners in cases of eminent domain are condensed into one document for easy access and public consumption.

Currently, the state laws regarding compensation and due process for property being acquired under eminent domain can be difficult to find and understand by property owners. My bill will place them all in a single document produced by the Attorney General that will be more easily accessible to the average property owner.

Please join me in expanding the clarity and transparency of Pennsylvania’s eminent domain laws by making them more available to the average Pennsylvanian.

Introduced as HB1395
