MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 2, 2021 01:48 PM
From: Representative Malcolm Kenyatta
To: All House members
Subject: Cybersecurity Coordination Board

Virtually every week brings news of another attack on our most sensitive data systems.  Hackers continually monitor our systems, seeking new ways to compromise sensitive data.  Especially in these challenging times, establishing the highest level of cybersecurity for Pennsylvania is imperative. To achieve this goal, we must identify and implement a more centralized model for cybersecurity policy in the Commonwealth.
My legislation will create a system to centralize and streamline cybersecurity measures across all Commonwealth agencies and branches with the creation of the Cybersecurity Coordination Board.  By conducting audits and analyzing current protocols on federal, state and local levels, the board will gain the knowledge needed for strengthening the Commonwealth’s security and privacy standards.
Let us commit to providing the most secure and effective cybersecurity network to the citizens of Pennsylvania.  Please join me as we take on current cyber threats and prepare the Commonwealth for the information age.

Introduced as HB1362
