|Subject:||Strengthening Industry Partnerships|
|At the core of every strong economy is a workforce that is hard working and able to fill the needs of employers. Pennsylvania needs a workforce trained in the particular needs of our businesses, which will lead to good paying jobs with real benefits. In order for Pennsylvania to keep its economy growing we should strengthen our Industry Partnerships program by allowing our career and technical education centers to become more involved.
My legislation will ensure employers and career and technical education centers will have ability to work together to ensure training programs will provide the skilled workers needed. Also, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry will be encouraged to provide real time labor market data in order to help effectively identity industry needs in Pennsylvania.
I ask for your support and to join me in co-sponsoring this legislation, so we can help supply businesses with skilled workers and to get more Pennsylvanians earning family sustaining wages and benefits.
