House Co-Sponsorship Memoranda

Did you know that if you were rear-ended in an auto accident through no fault of your own, that accident could be used against you when shopping for a new auto insurance policy? This means you could lose a discount with your new insurer even though the accident was not your fault. 

 

This gap in our current law allows insurers to squeeze more money out of drivers who have done nothing wrong. I believe that is wrong and to fix this problem I will be introducing legislation that will prohibit an auto insurer from denying a discount to an applicant because of an accident for which the applicant was not primarily responsible.
