Subject: Honorable Richard A. Geist Memorial Bridge (Former HB2191)
 
In the near future, I will reintroduce legislation to honor Richard A. Geist.

The bill will designate the bridge identified as Bridge Key 5840, on the portion of SR 4010 (17th Street) over Interstate 99 in Logan Township, Blair County, as the Richard A. Geist Memorial Bridge.

In 1979, the Honorable Richard A. Geist was elected as a Republican member of the House of Representatives and subsequently reelected for 15 consecutive terms. He was appointed and elected to a number of positions within the Republican party and Republican Caucus and chaired and served on numerous State councils and commissions.

Richard "Rick" A. Geist was born November 21,1944, in Altoona and passed away on August 29, 2019. He is survived by a large, loving extended family, including his wife of 48 years.
