Subject: | CIOC Study Resolution |
In the near future I plan to introduce a resolution directing the Joint State Government Commission to study common interest owned communities (CIOCs) in Pennsylvania. In 2009, the House passed HR 350 directing the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a similar study. The study was released in 2011 and provided a more robust picture of the planned communities, cooperatives and condominiums, or CIOCs, that are located in the State. The number of CIOCs in Pennsylvania is rapidly expanding as this type of community is becoming a more popular way of developing housing. Due to these factors, it is important for us to continually get an updated picture of these communities and recommendations, in order to better serve our residents located in these communities. As we come up on the 10 year anniversary of the release of the first study, I feel that now is a good time to commission a second study to be able to review the rapidly evolving landscape of CIOCs. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation. |
