Subject:	COVID19: Emergency Liquor Licensee Discount

Our community bars and restaurants have been hit hard by the coronavirus shut-downs and are struggling to find new ways to meet consumer needs. While restaurants have been permitted to be open for customers for some time, they find themselves needing to make changes to their business models, requiring new safety measures and limiting their on-premise footprints to keep themselves and their customers healthy and safe. These changes will not only cost money, but in turn, limit their profits. My legislation will increase the discount that licensees receive when they purchase from the PLCB Fine Wine and Good Spirits Stores from 10% to 15% for a period of one year. This increase will provide much needed financial relief to our community bars, taverns, and clubs during these uncertain times. Please consider co-sponsoring this legislation and joining me in providing meaningful support to our neighborhood bars and restaurants on their road to recovery.
