Subject: | Commonsense Limited Liability for PPE Manufacturers, PPE Users, Health Care Workers, and Businesses |
The worldwide pandemic caused by COVID-19 brought illness and disruptions that have touched every family. As we learn to live with this virus and public health measures are updated, the Commonwealth’s suppliers of personal protective equipment, users of personal protective equipment, businesses and health care professionals have stepped up to help provide critical services that families need. To help bring certainty and commonsense protections to the critical suppliers, health care providers and employers that continue to operate during the pandemic, I am proposing legislation that would provide specific civil liability rules that reflect the realities of our current unprecedented and unpredictable situation. I look forward to working with you on this proposal, which is part of the Commonwealth’s COVID Comeback legislative package. |
