| Subject: | COVID-19: Hazard Pay Grants for EMS Workers |
| When we have a health emergency, we call for an ambulance. Emergency Medical Service (EMS) workers are on the frontline of healthcare every day, 24 hours a day. The expert and tireless efforts of these selfless Pennsylvanians often are the difference between life and death. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our EMS personnel have not hesitated and have increased their efforts to keep their patients safe from this infectious disease. Their efforts are the keystone in preventing the spread of COVID-19 to other patients with stringent and regimented sanitization, making their ambulances and equipment as safe as possible. For these reasons, I will be introducing a bill that would provide hazard pay grants to EMS workers across the state. Standing with these workers and ensuring their daily efforts and struggles are recognized is the least we can do. With every shift, EMS workers are facing financial, physical and emotional risks. Please join me as we stand with these heroes and provide hazard pay grants to EMS workers. |
