| Subject: | Race & Ethnic Equality Constitutional Amendment |
| In the near future, I will be introducing a joint resolution to amend our constitution to guarantee the equality of rights for persons of all races and ethnicities. Specifically, my proposal will add a section to Article I, our Declaration of Rights, which would read as follows: ********** § 29. Prohibition against denial or abridgment of equality of rights because of race and ethnicity. Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania because of the race or ethnicity of the individual. ********** Pennsylvania is the birthplace of American liberty. As such, every individual in this Commonwealth must be free to exercise all their individual rights regardless of race or ethnic background, and that equality should be enshrined in our most fundamental law. Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation. |
