MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 8, 2020 11:24 AM
From: Representative Tarah Toohil
To: All House members
Subject: COVID-19 Industrial Business Data Reporting Act

In the near future, I will be introducing the COVID-19 Industrial Business Data Reporting Act.  This act will make it mandatory for industrial businesses to report the following information daily to the Pennsylvania Department of Health:

  • the number and results of employees who have been tested for COVID-19
  • the number of COVID-19 deaths among employees
  • the number of employees who have recovered from COVID-19
  • the total number of employees who are employed by the industrial business

The Department of Health will then publish the following data on the department’s publicly accessible website:

  • The percentage of employees who have tested positive and negative, respectively, for COVID-19 at each industrial business
  • The percentage of employees who have pending test results for COVID-19 at each industrial business
  • The percentage of employees working at each industrial business who have died as a result of COVID-19

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation that will not only provide increased transparency in the reporting of this global pandemic, but will also provide much needed information for the employees that are working everyday as they continue to provide essential goods and services throughout the Commonwealth.

Introduced as HB2520
