Subject: | Outdoor Sportsman Clubs Guidelines in Response to COVID-19 |
Life as we know it has changed significantly over the past two months in Pennsylvania. While frontline workers continue to serve our Commonwealth during difficult times, many residents are staying at home in order to adhere to social distancing protocols. All state game lands outdoor shooting ranges have been closed due to the spread of COVID-19. This bill would allow non PGC related outdoor sportsman clubs to re-open. Outdoor sportsman clubs provide great joy and relief to the residents of our Commonwealth. Therefore, in order to ensure the safety of the employees and patrons of these clubs, I am introducing legislation that would provide a uniform standard for of all outdoor sportsman clubs in Pennsylvania in response to the current situation, so that they are in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s COVID-19 Guidelines. My legislation would require that the club house would remain closed in order to comply with social distancing and restaurant guidelines. It would also require that each employee and member at the outdoor sportsman clubs to wear masks and practice social distancing while in attendance. This act would only allow five participants on each outdoor range at a time and would reflect the ever-evolving guidelines by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Please join me in ensuring the safety of the employees and patrons of outdoor sportsman clubs. Your consideration and support is appreciated. |
