Subject: Resolution declaring May 2020 as "Older Pennsylvanians Month"
 
Traditionally, May has been recognized as "Older Americans Month" here in Pennsylvania and across the nation. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Aging Plan on Aging, there are approximately 2.9 million adults that are 60 years of age and older, and more than 300,000 of them are 85 years old and older in Pennsylvania. It is estimated that this aging population will increase by 25% this year. To recognize this growing population, I intend to circulate a resolution to designate the month of May as "Older Pennsylvanians Month."

This resolution will honor this experience and wisdom of older adults and will dedicate the month of May as "Older Pennsylvanians Month."

Please support this resolution by recognizing the inspiration and contributions our older adults have provided for the community and the Commonwealth.
