MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 12, 2020 02:29 PM
From: Representative Harry Readshaw
To: All House members
Subject: Junior Achievement Month Resolution

Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. More than 6,000 business, community and parent volunteers touch the lives of more than 200,000 students in kindergarten through grade 12 in public and private school systems in this Commonwealth with a message of hope and prosperity for the future; and preparing them to be the workers, leaders and educated consumers of tomorrow.
In an increasingly global world, the skills and support students will gain through participating in Junior Achievement will be invaluable to their future success, enriching their lives and growing our economy and society as a whole. That is why I am re-introducing a resolution to celebrate May 2020 as Junior Achievement Month in Pennsylvania. Any organization that touches the lives of so many young Pennsylvanians and helps prepare them to face the business challenges of a fast-changing workforce environment deserves recognition.
Please join me in recognizing the 81st anniversary of the founding of Junior Achievement in Pennsylvania and celebrating its volunteers’ quest to inspire young people to build a brighter future for us all.
