|Subject:||Pavement Advisory Committee|
|In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that would establish the Pavement Advisory Committee. Our Commonwealth is home to many businesses which participate within the state’s vital pavement industry. In particular, the asphalt and concrete companies both provide the necessary services of constructing and maintaining our expansive roadways. However, for varying reasons, the recent decline in usage of multiple types of pavements within the 11 PennDOT districts has led to a deficiency in competition within the industry.
By establishing the Pavement Advisory Committee, all stakeholders within the industry will be able to evaluate and make recommendations related to the competitive pavement selections process within our Commonwealth.
My legislation is part of the House Transportation Task Force’s package of bills that is responsible for finding innovative ways for the Commonwealth to fund transportation, while also ensuring the current funding sources to transportation are as effective as possible.
I hope you join me in sponsoring this important piece of transportation related legislation.
