MEMORANDUM

Posted: June 11, 2019 10:30 AM
From: Representative Kurt A. Masser
To: All House members
Subject: Funding for a Code Enforcement Officer or Main/Elm Street Coordinator in Act 47 Communities

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that provides funding for financially distressed municipalities to hire a Code Enforcement Officer and to hire either a Main Street or Elm Street Program coordinator. These positions shall be funded by DCED at the following rates:
  • First two years – 100%
  • Years three through five – 80%
  • Years six through eight – 50%
Having employees dedicated to curbing blight, promoting economic development, and revitalization of financially distressed municipalities will only benefit the municipality and help it to leave Act 47.

I hope you will cosponsor this legislation with me.

Introduced as HB1670
