Subject: | Consumer Convenience Permit Legislation |
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation to support and expand the current model our grocery and convenience stores are currently operating under. As you are aware, grocery stores and convenience stores purchase a Restaurant license and utilize that license to sell beer and wine to go to our constituents. This has ushered in an era of convenience for our citizens and should be continued. Many of the requirements placed on the holder of a restaurant license, however, are still limiting our constituents the ability to purchase wine and beer in the manner they desire. For a fee, our local restaurants will be able to apply for a Customer Convenience Permit to expand operating privileges. This permit will have to be renewed every year by the licensee. Those expanded privileges will include: Removal of the 30 seat requirement for a restaurant license
