Subject: Summary Offense for Unsolicited Materials on Property within a City of the First Class
 
Distributed unsolicited materials are both a public safety and environmental hindrance.

As material piles up, it:

  • Advertises the fact that no one is home, giving would-be burglars the green light to break in and help themselves
  • Advertises that the property may be abandoned potentially putting neighboring properties at risk
  • Becomes waste littering a property


I am proposing legislation making it a summary offense for anyone to deposit unsolicited or advertising materials on a property within a city of the first class.
