Subject:	Local Option Referenda

Act 39 of 2016 permitted residents of a municipality to seek to hold a referendum to allow the sale of liquor in the municipality. However, the bill contained unclear language, impeding the ability of Pennsylvanians to seek a referendum. For this reason, my legislation will clarify the language to ensure that such a referendum could be implemented as intended. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation to clarify existing law and to provide the framework for a referendum to allow liquor sales in a municipality.
