Subject: | Project 70 Topton Borough Berks County |
In the near future I will be reintroducing legislation to authorize the release of Project 70 restrictions on a parcel of land in the Borough of Topton, Berks County. This legislation unanimously passed both chambers of the General Assembly last session, but session ended before the House could consider a concurrence vote and complete the legislative process. Toad Creek originally split property between a private landowner and the Borough, however the deterioration of the creek’s banks, along with property lines that were drawn many years ago has changed the dynamics of each property. On the private landowner’s side, the Borough owns a small parcel of land while on the Borough’s side, the private landowner owns a small parcel. My legislation will allow the Borough of Topton and the private landowner to swap two parcels of land along Toad Creek. This already agreed-to land swap will allow both property owners to more easily care for their land and also allow the Borough to rebuild the deteriorating stream bed. Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation to authorize the transfer of this property. |
