Subject: | Resolution designating the month of November 2018 as National Dog Show Month in Pennsylvania |
I will soon be introducing a resolution designating the month of November 2018 as National Dog Show Month in Pennsylvania. The National Dog Show is the largest show in Pennsylvania and one of the largest in the United States, attracting some 15,000 people and over 2,000 dogs to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks each November. There are over 3,000 dog shows in American each year and The National Dog Show, in Oaks, Montgomery County, is one of only three that are “Benched”, meaning that all dogs and handlers remain in designated locations throughout the weekend, enabling the public to learn about the near 200 different breeds in fulfillment of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s educational mission. The non-profit Kennel Club of Philadelphia uses proceeds from the show and National Dog Show Months events to support multiple charities aiding ill children, canine rescue, canine health and other causes. I hope that you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution designating the month of November 2018 as National Dog Show Month in Pennsylvania. |
