MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 23, 2018 04:43 PM
From: Representative Warren Kampf
To: All House members
Subject: Declare Philadelphia Region to be Cellicon Valley

Colleagues, would you consider co-sponsoring a House Resolution I am about to introduce which would declare the Philadelphia Region to be Cellicon Valley? I know this is just a name, but I believe it is a name that will provoke curiosity which will lead to an important discovery.

Silicon Valley out in California is known widely given all the tech companies, but what is less well known—and no less important—is that the Philadelphia region has something amazing going on worthy of its own special name. It is in that region and in its research institutions, labs, schools and businesses that revolutionary science has recently led us to the curative power of our own cells and genes. These discoveries are revolutionizing healthcare, and saving lives. It is the discovery of a whole new, successful way to treat people who carry or contract some of humankind’s most terrible conditions. Giving the region this name, Cellicon Valley—and celebrating it in the people’s House--is an important part of telling the world what is going on in our great state.

So please join me in this House Resolution, a copy of which I can furnish upon request.
