Subject:	Honoring the 40th Anniversary of Cheyney University’s 1977-78 Men’s Division II National Championship Basketball Team

As many of you may recall, the Cheyney State College’s men’s basketball team won the Division II National Championship in 1978 under the leadership of the legendary Naismith Hall of Fame Coach John Chaney. This unforgettable, well-balanced Cheyney Wolves team included the following members which deserve our continued commendation for their teamwork, determination, and talent: John Butts, Duane Coleman, Milt Colston, Andrew Fields, Kenny Hinson, Jeffrey Hutcherson, Roger Leysath, Gerald Mills, Charles Murphy, Gilbert Saunders, Arthur Stone, and John Walter. On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, I plan to offer a resolution honoring the 40th anniversary of the Wolves memorable victory which brought great pride to both the college and Commonwealth. I hope you will join me in celebrating this historic and inspirational achievement by co-sponsoring this special resolution and welcoming the team’s visit to our House chamber.
