Subject: | First Lieutenant Eric Fisher Wood, Jr., Memorial Bridge |
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor First Lieutenant Eric Fisher Wood, Jr. The bill will designate a portion of State Route 1001 in Bedford County, as the First Lieutenant Eric Fisher Wood, Jr., Memorial Bridge. First Lieutenant Eric Fisher Wood, Jr. was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, summa cum laude, and Princeton University. After graduation, he served in the Pennsylvania National Guard’s Artillery Reserve. He was killed in action during World War II near Meyerode, Belgium on January 22, 1945. First Lieutenant Eric Fisher Wood, Jr. was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, the Belgian Croix de Guerre and the Purple Heart Medal. Please join me in sponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
