Subject:	Resolution Recognizing 50th Anniversary of John Hancock Demonstration Elementary School

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the 50th anniversary of the establishment of John Hancock Demonstration Elementary School. John Hancock Demonstration Elementary has been considered a pioneer in both its design and teaching methods-- the circular-shaped building allows for team-teaching techniques and wall-less classrooms. Students benefit from multiple teaching approaches and disciplines. Additionally, John Hancock is one of the few schools within the School District of Philadelphia to provide accommodations for hard-of-hearing and deaf children, giving the students additional special instruction alongside their time in the mainstream classroom.
