Session of 2017 - 2018 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: June 16, 2017 03:10 PM
From: Representative Judy Ward and Rep. Rich Irvin
To: All House members
Subject: Bridge Naming in Honor of Trooper Landon E. Weaver

In the near future, Representative Rich Irvin and I will be introducing legislation designating the bridge carrying U.S. Route 22 over the Juniata River, Norfolk Southern Corporation rail tracks and State Route 1010 (Penn Street) in Huntingdon County, as the Trooper Landon E. Weaver Memorial Bridge.

Trooper Weaver of Troop G, Huntingdon Barracks, was tragically killed in the line of duty on December 30, 2016, in Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, while investigating a protection from abuse order.

He grew up in rural Blair County and graduated in 2012 from Central High School in Martinsburg. After high school, he was a dean’s list student in criminology and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the State Police Academy in 2015 and married his wife, Macy, in June of 2016.

Please join us in honoring Trooper Weaver, his wife, parents and brother by designating the U.S. Route 22 bridge as the Trooper Landon E. Weaver Memorial Bridge.

Introduced as HB1608
