|Subject:||May 2017 - Healthy Babies Month in Pennsylvania|
|I will be introducing a resolution designating May 2017 as “Healthy Babies Month” in Pennsylvania.
The March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation recognizes May 2017 as “Healthy Babies Month” to educate men and women about the importance of preconception and prenatal care, nutrition, and a healthy lifestyle in order to enhance positive birth outcomes. Preconception care, in addition to early regular prenatal care, is a pregnant woman’s first line of defense for protecting her baby. If problems arise, the earlier they are detected, the more likely they are to respond to treatment.
Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation on the importance of early regular prenatal care.
