Subject: | Casino LSA distribution and other gaming changes |
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation designed to fix the local share assessment (LSA) issue in the Gaming Act by requiring all Category 1 and Category 2 casinos to pay a $10 million fee to host municipalities. In addition, my legislation will amend the way the local share assessments from Hollywood and Presque Isle are allocated in order to distribute a small portion of these funds to Lebanon County and the City of Erie, respectively. These changes are in line with the way the local share assessments from Sands Casino are allocated to both Northampton and Lehigh Counties and distributed to specific municipalities in each of the respective counties. My legislation will also specifically provide for some changes supported by the Gaming Control Board, which will increase license, permit and registration renewal periods and allow gaming manufacturers to utilize private laboratories to test gaming devices. Please consider joining me in cosponsoring this legislation. Thank you. |
