MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 6, 2017 09:16 AM
From: Representative Jared G. Solomon and Rep. Matt Gabler
To: All House members
Subject: Veterans Registry

In the near future, we will be introducing a bill intended to expand the scope and impact of the Veterans Registry at the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Doing so will enable the Department to engage, inform and support veterans from across the Commonwealth.

Currently, the Department manages an online registry that captures roughly 7,000 of the over 894,000 veterans in Pennsylvania. That represents less than 1% of veterans. The registry is a valuable resource to inform veterans, their families and their support workers to learn about benefits, programs and services.

This bill empowers the Department to work hand-in-glove with other departments to bolster this registry.

We hope you will join us in supporting this legislation to ensure that our Commonwealth is properly serving all who have bravely served us.

Introduced as HB1231
