Subject: | Resolution Supporting the Forum of Executive Women’s Push for More Women on Executive Boards |
According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics women made up 43.9% of the Pennsylvania labor force in 2015. However, women only made up 12.7% of executive positions in the largest 100 public companies headquartered in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, as we can all recognize, there is a need to improve the percentage of women holding executive positions. Therefore in the near future, I will introduce a resolution encouraging equitable and diverse gender representation on the boards and in senior management of companies in Pennsylvania. The purpose of this resolution is to urge all Pennsylvania non-profits, privately held and publicly traded institutions and companies doing business in Pennsylvania to work toward a goal of equal representation of men and women in leadership positions on an annual basis. I hope to have all of my women legislature colleagues join me by co-sponsoring this important Resolution. |
