Subject: Firefighter & Special Organization Motorcycle License Plates
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation which provides for specialty motorcycle license plates. This bill would allow all of the organizations under PennDot’s Special Organization Plate Program to create their own motorcycle license, with a portion of the fee earmarked towards their specific charitable association.

For example, it allows active or alumni member of the International Association of Fire Fighters or anyone who is an active or alumni member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and wishes to pay $35, in addition to the annual registration fee to order a motorcycle license plate.

Since the enactment of Act 18 of 2015 honoring veterans on motorcycle license plates, many motorcyclists have expressed a desire to purchase a specialty license plate for their specific organization.
