Subject:	10 Mile Buffer between Gettysburg National Military Park and a Casino (Prior HB 990)

I plan to reintroduce legislation that will amend the Gaming Act to place a 10-mile casino buffer around Gettysburg National Military Park. Since the Gaming Act was passed in 2004, investors have been anxious to place a casino in the Gettysburg area. Gettysburg was the turning point of the Civil War. A casino would cast a shadow over Gettysburg and take away the solemnity of this historic area.
