Subject: | Easing the Reporting Burden and Increasing Proceed Caps for Club Licensees |
In the near future, I plan to reintroduce House Bill 1807 of 2015, which will amend the Local Option Small Games of Chance Act. Currently, all club licensees with proceeds exceeding $20,000 in a calendar year must submit annual reports. These reports include proceeds received from each game of chance and the amount of prizes paid from all games of chance, itemized by week. My legislation would change this itemization requirement from weekly to quarterly. Additionally, club licensees must contribute at least 60 percent of proceeds for public interest purposes, and may keep 40 percent. Currently, if a licensee has $40,000 or less in proceeds, that organization may retain $20,000 before distributing the remaining proportion for public interest purposes. My legislation would increase the $40,000 cap to $60,000. Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation aimed at easing the burden on our club licensees. |
