Subject: | Bridge Naming in Honor of Cpl. Eric M. Torbert Jr. USMC |
Please join me as I name the bridge crossing over the Conestoga River on Route 741, between Pequea Township and Lancaster Township in honor of Corporal Eric M. Torbert, Jr. Corporal Torbert lost his life on December 18, 2010 while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He was a combat engineer assigned to the 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton California. He had enlisted in September 2007. Eric was a graduate of Penn Manor High School and enjoyed fishing along the Conestoga River, therefore naming this bridge over the Conestoga River would be a wonderful way to honor his memory and service. He is survived by his wife, Marcelle Torbert, his parents, Denise and Eric of Millersville, as well as two younger siblings, Dennis and Lynn. |
