Subject: | Reduction in Corporate Net Income Tax Rate |
In the near future, I am planning to introduce legislation to reduce the corporate net income (CNI) tax rate from 9.99% to 6.90%. Pennsylvania currently has one of the highest CNI rates among the states. This legislation would serve to create a more business and job-friendly environment, which would encourage businesses to locate in Pennsylvania and help to create jobs. As the “Keystone State,” Pennsylvania is ideally located on the East Coast for new and existing businesses who are looking to locate where they can conduct commerce successfully. We have the type of highly skilled, dedicated and productive workforce that companies are seeking to employ, and our state is home to some of the very best colleges and universities in the nation. By cultivating more inviting business conditions, we can take advantage of the richness and diversity of our Commonwealth’s unique economic, educational, and cultural assets for the benefit of every Pennsylvanian. Indeed, we ought to maximize our state’s vast potential by encouraging job growth and increased economic activity for the greater good of our citizens. Please join me in helping to create a better and more attractive business environment in this Commonwealth. |
