Subject: Designating Aug.1st through Aug.7th as "World Breastfeeding Week" in Pennsylvania
 
In the near future, we will introduce a resolution designating August 1st through August 7th as “World Breastfeeding Week” in Pennsylvania. I hope you will join us in this effort.

World Breastfeeding Week was designated by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action, a group which advocates for a concerted global action to support women who breastfeed. This year’s theme for World Breastfeeding Week is “Breastfeeding & Work: Let’s Make It Work.” We know that breastfeeding helps to make healthy babies and healthy moms, which leads to cost-effective outcomes for employers and working mothers returning to their jobs. With this resolution, we support the overall goals of World Breastfeeding Week in creating a more breastfeeding-friendly environment in Pennsylvania’s workplaces and beyond.

We hope that you will co-sponsor this legislation and join us in our efforts.
