Subject: | School District Contribution Fund |
In the near future I will introduce legislation to amend the Tax Reform Code of 1971 by adding language to the Pennsylvania individual income tax return (the PA -40), to allow for voluntary donations to the “School District Contribution Fund.” Currently, Pennsylvanians can donate to the following organizations when filing their personal income tax returns: Pa Breast Cancer Coalition’s Breast and Cervical Cancer Fund, Wild Resource Conservation Fund, Military Family Relief Assistance program, Governor Robert P. Casey Memorial Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Trust Fund, Juvenile (Type 1) Diabetes Cure Research Fund, PA Children’s Trust Fund and the American Red Cross. My proposal will expand this list of donation recipients to include the “School District Contribution Fund.” This inclusion will provide a vehicle for taxpayers who wish to direct their financial support to a troubled school district, or any school district of their choice. I hope you will consider joining me in sponsoring this important legislation. |
