Currently, PA statute regarding the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin does not permit a member of the commission from the General Assembly to have a designee with proxy voting rights. As members of the General Assembly often have many obligations and a demanding schedule, particularly on session days, members are not always able to attend all functions and meetings they would like to. Nevertheless, members should still be able to have a voice and exercise their votes on commissions such as this, where they are appointed to serve the public's best interest. As such, in the near future, I will be introducing legislation that provides for a General Assembly member of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin to have a designee with voting rights. |
