Subject: | Designating a Portion of the State Route 43 as the Marine Cpl. Thomas R. Matty Memorial Interchange |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation designating the section of State Route 43 in Fayette County from the Mon-Fayette Expressway Interchange with PA Route 88 as the Marine Cpl. Thomas R. Matty Memorial Interchange. Cpl. Thomas R. Matty was born in Denbo, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Bethlehem Center High School. He went on to receive a business administration degree from the Educational Institute of Pittsburgh. Cpl. Matty enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he made the ultimate sacrifice in the vicinity of Quang Nam Province in South Vietnam at the age of 22. Bethlehem Center High School continues to honor Cpl. Matty by giving an award each year to a senior in his name. Please join me in supporting this legislation. |
