Subject: | Beer Distributors Selling a Variety of Malt Liquor Beverages |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that would amend Act 21 of 1951, the Liquor Code, § 102 (Definitions) by permitting beer distributors in the Commonwealth to sell six packs of beer and other malt liquor beverages. Under my legislation, the term case would mean any configuration of original containers totaling twenty-two or more fluid ounces of malt or brewed beverages, which may be shipped by the manufacturer in units containing more than one case. My legislation would help to level the playing field for distributors by allowing them the opportunity to sell beer and malt liquor beverages in smaller quantities, including small specialty packs. Larger corporations are not constricted in the same manner as our local distributors. I believe in strengthening our small business owners who faithfully employ members of the community and diligently contribute to the tax revenue in our Commonwealth. I urge you to join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. Thank you! |
