|Subject:||Compliance Checks in State Stores|
|I plan to introduce legislation in the near future to amend the Liquor Code. This legislation will change the way the Liquor Code is enforced in our State Stores.
My legislation will allow the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE) to do compliance checks in State Stores. Currently, BLCE is not authorized to go into State Stores to determine whether or not the employees are selling to minors. I firmly believe that the PLCB should not be charged with policing themselves when it comes to sales to minors. All liquor licensees are subject to these compliance checks and my legislation will subject the State Stores to the same standards.
