Subject: | 10-MILE BUFFER AROUND GETTYSBURG NATIONAL MILITARY PARK AND A CASINO (FORMER HB 2082) |
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation that will amend the Gaming Act to place a 10-mile casino buffer around Gettysburg National Military Park. Since the Gaming Act was passed in 2004, investors have been anxious to place a casino in the Gettysburg area. Gettysburg was the turning point of the Civil War. A casino would cast a shadow over Gettysburg and take away the solemnity, history, and knowledge of those who bravely fought in this great battle.
